“Join us to celebrate the International Day of Workers, May Day! We will be having a demonstration in Nijmegen, with speakers on the right to strike, crackdown on protests, and internationalism”, we read on the Grote Broek website.

The text continues: “We believe that demonstrating Labour Day in a country where it’s not considered a strike is crucial for workers’ rights and fights. With the rise of the far right oppressing workers’ voices, threatening ourselves and our neighbours, and causing more divides than ever before – LET’S STAND IN SOLIDARITY TOGETHER AND RESIST!”
