14 juni, Amsterdam: bijeenkomst “Eco-socialism, black liberation and cooperative economies”

“CLuB and NieuwLand are joining forces for an inspiring evening of storytelling and dialogue with Kali Akuno and Sacajawea Hall. The event will explore the themes of Eco-socialism, Black Liberation, and Cooperative economies! Kali Akuno and Sacajawea Hall are two incredible organizers, human rights defenders, and social justice activists from the USA. Among other projects, they lead Cooperation Jackson, a revolutionary project based in Jackson, Mississippi working on sustainable community development, economic democracy, and community ownership. Kali and Sacajawea will share some of their visions, strategies, and experiences in building sustainable, cooperative and democratic alternatives. There will also be space for questions and dialogue. So get excited to talk radical social and climate justice!”, aldus de oproep van Climate Liberation Bloc.

Hier vind je meer over de Cooperation Jackson. “Cooperation Jackson’s basic theory of change is centered on the position that organizing and empowering the structurally under and unemployed sectors of the working class, particularly from Black and Latino communities, to build worker organized and owned cooperatives will be a catalyst for the democratization of our economy and society overall.”
